Review: Invasion (C.H.A.O.S. #1) by Jon S. Lewis

He didn't ask for the job, but now all that stands between us and chaos... is Colt

Colt McAlister was having the summer of his life. He spent his days surfing and his nights playing guitar on the beach with friends. He even met a girl and got his first car. But everything changes when his parents are killed in a freak accident.
He's forced to leave his old life behind and move to Arizona with his grandfather. The only person he knows at the new high school is a childhood friend named Dani. And Oz, a guy he's sure he's never met but who is strangely familiar.
But what if his parents' death wasn't an accident? His mother, an investigative reporter, was going to expose a secret mind-control program run by one of the world's largest companies. Before she could release the story, what if agents from Trident Biotech made sure she couldn't go public?
Vowing to uncover the truth, Colt gets drawn into a secret world of aliens, shapeshifters, flying motorcycles, and invisible gateways.
The Invasion has begun.
"...An unstoppable cyborg mix of Fringe meets The X-Files. Read Invasion with your eyes wide open. No blinking or you might miss a shapeshifting alien as it blows past you en route to a total planetary take-over." -Frank Beddor, New York Times best-selling author of The Looking Glass Wars(less)

Review: Cameo and the Highwayman (Trilogy of Shadows Series #2) by Dawn McCullough-White

Summary-
The land of Shandow is a place of arctic cold. It was the scene of the bloody revolution, and is the location of the item Cameo's master wants so badly.

In the dark of winter a vampire lies in wait...
...Opal is unable to run from his past... and Cameo must make a choice that will cost her the last shred of humanity she has left.
Book Two in the Trilogy of Shadows series

Review-
I liked this story alot! It was as good if not better than cameo. I loved the way the storyline developed and played out. Most of the original characters were in this one with a few new faces. I liked them all.... Except for "The Master". I have a feeling Cameo will deal with him in her next adventure. Where everyone else will end up? I can only anxiously wait to find out. The author writes in a way that you wrapped up in the story. I had a hard time putting this book down even for a minute. I can not wait to read the next book in this trilogy. I recommend this book to everyone who loves excitment and thrills.

Review: Cameo the Assassin (Trilogy of Shadows Series #1) by Dawn McCullough-White

Summary-
The Kingdom of Sieunes is rife with taverns, dirty streets, and clay pipe smoking citizens all toiling to feed their families and keep themselves in something little better than rags. With a foiled revolution just ten years prior still burning in the hearts of many, the royals enlist the aid of assassins to keep things in order. The townsfolk entertain themselves by dreaming of better times to come and regaling in stories of the undead said to walk the graveyards at night... and of Cameo the killer with corpse-like eyes...

Scarred and jaded Cameo is one of the most effective assassins in the employ of the Association, moving from one mission to the next as long as the alcohol keeps flowing. Her acceptance of the murder-for-hire lifestyle is thrown into doubt when she meets a local highwayman with a penchant for fine clothes and women, and then she begins to think about breaking with the company but no one ever breaks with the Association under good terms.

Review-
Cameo is the first zombie story I have read. Very detailed characters, which is nice for a change. I love the storyline. It is well planned and executed. It's an easy read. All kinds of unexpected twists and turns. I picked it up and before I knew it I was at the end of the book. A colorful fast paced story. I dropped into her world and stayed with her thru the entire ride. I hope there will be a sequel. I'd love to read it and add it to my personal collection. It's a keeper

Review: Dark Parties by Sara Grant

Summary-
Sixteen-year-old Neva has been trapped since birth. She was born and raised under the Protectosphere, in an isolated nation ruled by fear, lies, and xenophobia. A shield "protects" them from the outside world, but also locks the citizens inside. But there's nothing left on the outside, ever since the world collapsed from violent warfare. Or so the government says...

Neva and her best friend Sanna believe the government is lying and stage a "dark party" to recruit members for their underground rebellion. But as Neva begins to uncover the truth, she realizes she must question everything she's ever known, including the people she loves the most.

Review-
Dark Parties is a fantastic book! I love Neva. I  think she is a strong lead character. Braydon had me flipping back and forth a lot. One minute I love him, the next I can't stand him. I was like that the whole book. I love all the characters. This book was a true page turner for me. I couldn't put it down. The super glue fairy came back and glued that dang book to my hand. I swear she does it for a good laugh. I had to cook and clean and take care of the kids with it glued there. Any-Hoo, I do highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a late nighter. I am praying a sequel is on the way....I totally want them together :)

Review: Indelible (The Yara Silva Trilogy #2) by Lani Woodland

Summary-
Sixteen-year-old Yara Silva has always known that ghosts walk alongside the living. Her grandma, like the other females in her family, is a Waker, someone who can see and communicate with ghosts. Yara grew up watching her grandmother taunted and scorned for this unusual ability and doesn t want that to be her future. She has been dreading the day when she too would see ghosts, and is relieved that the usually dominant Waker gene seems to have skipped her, letting her live a normal teenage life. However, all that changes for Yara on her first day at her elite boarding school when she discovers the gene was only lying dormant. She witnesses a dark mist attack Brent, a handsome fellow student, and rushes to his rescue. Her act of heroism draws the mist s attention, and the dark spirit begins stalking her. Yara finds herself entrenched in a sixty-year-old curse that haunts the school, threatening not only her life, but the lives of her closest friends as well. Yara soon realizes that the past she was trying to put behind her isn't going to go quietly

Review-
This is one of the best Ghost stories series I have read in a long time. Inselible picks up where Intrinsical left off. It is a great follow up to the first part. I really enjoyed the first part which means I REALLY enjoyed this book. The storyline never got boring . I didnt lose interest once! Yara is a great main character. Her relationship with Brent is more realistic to real life than most stories i have read. You definitly have to read book 1 to enjoy book 2. I cant brag enough about this book. If you pick anything up for fall or winter reads pick this series up. Its worth your time!

Review: Coffeehouse Angel by Suzanne Selfors

Summary-
From the author of Saving Juliet comes a romantic comedy that is good to the last drop. When Katrina spots a homeless guy sleeping in the alley behind her grandmother’s coffee shop, she decides to leave him a cup of coffee, a bag of chocolate-covered coffee beans, and some pastries to tide him over. Little does she know that this random act of kindness is about to turn her life upside down.  Because this adorable vagrant, Malcolm, is really a guardian angel on a break between missions. And he won’t leave until he can reward Katrina’s selflessness by fulfilling her deepest desire. Now if only she could decide what that might be . . .

Review-
I thought this book is sooo cute. But it is also sad. I love how Malcolm just shows up and he's not supposed to communicate with Katrina but he does because he falls in love with her and at the end she wishes for him to get that promotion and he becomes what he's always wanted.. to be human and have a life with desires. This would be the type of book that would need a  sequel to tell what Malcolm life is while he is human, Highly recommend this book if you love a good love story!

Review-
I really liked this very unusual story. The storyline is very unique, strange and exciting. The writting style of the author is both easy to follow and absorbable. I have never read a story like this one. The main characters are wonderfully written. An interesting twist to the whole Immortal Gods thing. Mystery, imagination and old traditions play a big role in this creatively written story. I hope there will be a sequel. Totally recommendable.

Review: The Iron Daughter (Iron Fey #2) by Julie Kagawa

Summary-
Half Summer faery princess, half human, Meghan has never fit in anywhere. Deserted by the Winter prince she thought loved her, she is prisoner to the Winter faery queen. As war looms between Summer and Winter, Meghan knows that the real danger comes from the Iron fey—ironbound faeries that only she and her absent prince have seen. But no one believes her.

Worse, Meghan's own fey powers have been cut off. She's stuck in Faery with only her wits for help. Trusting anyone would be foolish. Trusting a seeming traitor could be deadly. But even as she grows a backbone of iron, Meghan can't help but hear the whispers of longing in her all-too-human heart.

Review-
This book picks up where part one left off. This book is just as awesome as the first book! The author has a way of telling a story that makes you feel like your right there in it. It is a storyline that just sweeps you into Faery land and it has enough adventure to keep you imprisoned there. Meghan is a strong character that knows what she wants and is brave enough to go after it. Im not so sure i could have made the decisions that she made. This book (just like the first one) made me hungry for more of the story. I will be picking up part 3 in this series. If you haven't read a faery book or you are looking for some winter reads then I HIGHLY recommend you pick up this series!Again Bravo times 2 to this author. I cant wait to read more!

Review-
I have never read one of Rachel Vincent's books but I will be looking at them from here on. This book was AMAZING. The author has created a world that i just couldn't get enough of. The story was breath taking! The book is told from Cam and Liv's Point of view, I normally don't care for books like that but this one was different. I really enjoyed the two POV's. They gave me incite to the characters emotions and thoughts.
The storyline is strong and thrilling and absolutely solid. The characters are intriguing and worth the read. If you pick up this book make sure you have plenty of time because you are not going to want to put this book down. I can hardly wait to get book two in this series. Its definitely worth my time! Bravo to Rachel Vincent!
